A couple of years ago, I remember reading about how the 2000s era hit show Girlfriends was a completely different cast than the one that ultimately starred in the show. Well, it turns out that was incorrect. There were 2 changes though:
While Tracee Ellis Ross and Golden Brooks were the original Joan and Maya respectively, Jill Marie Jones and Persia white were not originally cast as Toni and Lynn. These parts were played by actresses Leslie Silva and Christina Cox. The latter being interesting because it appears that they were initially going in different direction with the Lynn charater. Looks like her role on the show was going to be the mixed race girl who everybody thought was white every week.
